Her Story

I first met Kunal on 31st December 2006 at a mutual family friend's party.  We sang, we danced, we added each other on MSN and he continued to give me butterflies without even knowing it.  Life got busy at our respective universities and we were out of touch for four years.  In September 2013, a few days after I coincidently moved to live just four miles from him in London, my heart skipped a beat when he messaged me again!

Catch-ups were endless, his laugh was infectious.  I'd met this boy once but felt like I'd known him forever. We met for our second time in October; we sang again, we danced again and this time Kunal asked me to be his girlfriend!

Everything has been somewhat surreal ever since - Kunal has this thing about him that makes me feel like absolutely anything is possible.  In the next six months he lived in New York with a permanent job contract, secured a promotion to come back to me this side of the ocean and surprised me endlessly in between.

Talking of surpises, the night of 7th June 2014 was a surpise big enough to last a lifetime (literally!)  A Disney-style, candle-lit path in the garden at home led to our Golash childhood treehouse floating amidst the trees.  When I got to top of the windey, wooden, rose-petal draped steps I found Mr Prince Charming with the cutest, excited grin on his face (and a litte remote in his hands..)

On the press of a switch a homemade sign made out of rope lights (which he made with Papa Golash!) lit up between the trees across the width of the garden..!

 

"Marry me?" - I turned around to find Kunal on one knee... & the celebrations haven't stopped ever since! (thank god i managed to say yes through all my emotional tears!)

I feel unbelievably lucky to be Kunal's bride-to-be - he makes me happier than I ever imagined possible.. So here's to celebrating the start of our new life together with all our near & dear - thank you for celebrating with us!
